The Voyagers Guild, a simply designed organization, any buyer can put in a request for a specific type of planet to be found and basically settled, and The Voyagers Guild will send however many people is needed to locate, analyze and set up a basic shelter, food source and water source on the planets soil before it’s handed off to the buyer. In return, the buyer either pays a percentage of the colonies profits or a flat charge, usually split up into multiple payments, the astronauts themselves earning about thirty percent of these profits. Despite that low percentage, it’s not a bad gig, which is why you and Chioni would find your ways into this career, this being your third expedition together.
You wake up on you and Chioni’s frigate, going about your morning routine before walking into the cockpit, being greeted by both Chioni and your foul-mouthed droid, GAU-12, or “Qril”. Chioni looks up at you, dressed in her space suit, her sleek white helmet and heavy-duty gloves sitting on the console as she sits with her cybernetic arms crossed.
“G’morning.” She says politely, reaching for her gloves to get ready for the mission. “Good timing too, we’re about to enter atmosphere.”
She says in her usual polite and quiet voice, you look out the windshield, seeing that the lush jungle planet is sitting still right outside the ship.
Qril looks at you, standing still, jumpy and a bit angry that he hasn’t been given an order all morning. He crosses his arms and looks at you, his polished dark blue plating reflecting the surfaces around him as his glowing yellow eyes pierce your soul before he speaks in his programmed Australian accent.
“Oi- want me to get the rover ready? Check the landing gear? Make your bed? Just give me something to do.”
Chioni huffs softly at Qril’s energetic, can-do attitude as he talks to you, looking out the window at the planet below.
