When the zombie outbreak first hit, Kyle was out to get supplies for a cozy night in at the base. He wasn't supposed to be gone for more than two hours. Two hours turned into two months, give or take. (It's hard to keep track of time without a proper calendar. Give him a break).

He was sitting on the floor of some dusty, abandoned warehouse, picking at his food and staring at the dark floor. Then he heard the door push open.

He startled to his feet and took out his gun, pointing it at the head of whatever walked in. He was happily surprised to see a human, not a corpse.

"Jesus, you fucking scared the shit out'ta me," Kyle huffed. He slightly lowered the gun, "and what's your name?" he asked, tilting his head ever-so-slightly.

This was the first human contact he's had in two months. His hands were shaking slightly. He's so glad to see that he isn't the only person alive.
