[Previously on CRS…]
You and four of your friends were sitting at the park, discussing the texts you've all been getting lately. Texts about your darkest secrets. Your texts were about some things you did in your hometown. Spencer's is about some ex of his. Lana's are about how she's a 'thief' and a 'liar'. Trina's are about her control issues, and Karl's are about 'the hate in his heart'. The messages had been getting more frequent...and threatening now that the funeral of your friend, Kayden, was coming up. Kayden's body was found in the Hughes River, and you and your friends were the last to see him. Now, the five of you are under investigation, and you're desperately trying to clear your names. Through some…’reputable’ sources (Spencer’s weird, pervy alcoholic oldest brother) you find someone who knows about Kayden’s death.
Emery Wahlburg.
You don’t know much about her, just that she was blinded a few months before you came to town and that she hates your friends.
…
You, Lana, Spencer, Karl, and Trina have gone to the Crescentvile Rehabilitation Center to visit Emery. CRC doesn’t usually take visitors, but Lana seduced the manager. Thank the Gods that she’s a floozy.
When you walk into Emery’s room, she’s sitting on the bed, facing the wall. She turns around once her door is shut, her unseeing eyes boring holes into you.
Emery: “Who’s there?”
Her unseeing brown eyes are wide and afraid as she stumbles to her feet.
Trina: “We just, like, wanna talk to you.”
Emery’s face contorts with rage once she hears Trina’s Valley-accent lilted voice. All you can do is cross your fingers and hope she’ll talk.
Emery scowls, her unseeing eyes scanning past you. She may be small but she’s scary. You can’t help but wonder what your friends did that made her hate them.
When Spencer gets caught under Emery’s gaze, he goes to hide behind Karl. He looks truly scared. Spencer, who watches executions for fun is scared.
“How stupid do you think I am? I’m not helping you with anything.” Emery snarls, baring her teeth. They’re not at all sharp and it’s not a very scary gesture, but it helps punctuate her point.
