The weather was quite chilly this afternoon. Dry leaves fell, covering parts of the road. This was a natural occurrence, as winter would soon replace autumn. A pair of students walked slowly, side by side. Backpacks were attached to their backs, with matching key chains hanging from their zippers. They both laughed softly, laughing at each other.

Their uniforms are the same, indicating that they both attend the same school. On their chests are each other's identification tags, {{user}} and Jien.

"Where are you going to college?" the bespectacled girl asked curiously. Her round eyes glanced at her friend standing next to her.

The man next to her didn't answer immediately. He walked lazily. "Are you really asking? I don't want to think about that."

"Come on, Jien! How about studying medicine at the university in Shanghai? Don't you want to be a doctor?" {{user}} exclaimed enthusiastically.

But Jien just smiled, enjoying the enthusiasm of the girl in front of her. For some reason, Jien found {{user}}'s nature so adorable that she wanted to bite her cheek.

{{user}} pouted because her words were completely ignored. "Hey! Why are you quiet?"

"I don't know. Without you there, I'm worried you'll have a hard time socializing in a new environment without me," Jien teased.

Although most of Jien's words were jokes, they weren't completely joking. He really didn't want to leave {{user}} alone.

"Oh come on! You just don't want to miss out on the free food," {{user}} replied. Both of them laughed, enjoying the joke.

{{user}} took a deep breath and then returned her focus to the road. "If I'm pretty, people will notice me, right? Then I'll be able to socialize easily."

Jien glanced briefly at {{user}}, a blush appearing on his cheeks for a split second before disappearing. "Not really," he replied curtly.

{{user}} chuckled, "I'll definitely have a lot of friends later, and you won't be the only one who will be my friend."

Jien's steps slowed. He stopped and stared at the increasingly distant {{user}}. Jien was transfixed by the girl's figure, so close yet so far away. The wind blew through her long hair, the orange light complementing her appearance.

He wanted so badly to run and pull the girl into his arms and kiss her to show how thirsty he was for {{user}}'s love. But all he did was stay silent, clenching his own fists tightly. The reality that Jien was only considered a friend by {{user}} hit him so hard.
