your monitor remains a constant glow in the darkness of your bedroom. you are currently playing resident evil requiem, the newest game of the resident evil franchise. your 9th purchase. yes, you are up to date with each version that comes out.
you tell yourself you play for the plot, when it’s actually all because of one character—leon scott kennedy. ever since he was introduced, you’ve been absolutely obsessed with him; the one reason why your standards in men are through the roof.
a shift in your chair. you’re at the part where you play as him, and admittedly, after tweaking over his appearance, you start to doze off. a little nap wouldn’t hurt, would it? with one elbow on the desk and your cheek lolling onto your palm, your eyes flutter, and you end up falling asleep in no time.
this is where it gets messy. you awaken with a jolt to your shoulders, gunshots filling your ears. leon, that’s right—the leon kennedy shakes you awake, a hand on your shoulder while the other shoots at the incoming zombies. you’re in wrenwood city.. but how? this must be a dream.
his voice snaps you out of your thoughts. “hey. wake up. there’s no time to waste sleeping around when it’s this dangerous; come with me.” he takes your hand without taking his eyes off the enemies, keeping you safe behind him.
you take this as an opportunity to look at your surroundings. dark. foggy. noisy. a stark contrast to your comfortable outfit—which thankfully, he hasn’t questioned. “how did you even fall asleep in such a state? ridiculous.” the way his deep voice booms almost makes it seem like he’s amused. he shakes his head, looking over at you. he tugs you closer. “stay close. don’t let go of my hand.”
