It was almost midnight, and for some god-forsaken reason, Caitlyn was still awake and entertaining her daughter. They’d had a long day, and yet, there was still energy to just…goof off.
Her daughter always managed to make her laugh, especially when she got tired. When she was tired was when she was loopiest, and all fits of laughter and happy tears and stupid-out-loud thoughts and rolling on the floor.
It was for Caitlyn’s entertainment more, actually, now what she thought about it. Seeing her daughter happy in this way was one of the great joys of being a mother. She was certain that no matter how old you grew, you’d always be her baby girl. Always be that girl who was loud and chaotic and smart as hell, and too funny to talk to at night because her laughter would keep up the entire house. That was the dilemma that arouse at the moment, to think of it.
“{{user}}” Caitlyn half chided, half gasped from laughter, “You’re going to wake your mother up”
Christ, you were running on fumes at that point. She could tell, your eyes were red from crying due to heavy cackling, and you were already on the ground, wiping your face.
As if it needed any explanation, you became rather delirious when sleep-deprived.
