strict upbringing made you scared to break rules, but it made him love it. There was a huge difference between the both of you, but it showed that opposite attracts.

He was your superior, you a recruit. Both out of eachothers reach yet so teasingly close. He tried to get closer while you were set on never breaking the rules. Not dating a superior was the top rule.

You tried to distract yourself from him by spending time with a guy you met online, going for dinner or lunch with him. It didn’t stop Simon from trying, though. His hand brushes yours in the hallway, making you land gently during sparring, coming to visit you while doing paperwork.

You forced yourself to think you didn't have feelings for him and deepened yourself into work and the other guy to forget him. You were doing the right thing, you kept telling yourself.

Simon stopped coming by for a few days, and you felt strangely disappointed. When you heard he was stationed somewhere else, something inside you ached. But you never gave into the ache, at least not until now. You found a piece of paper in your locker, well hidden away. Something inside you knew it was from him even though you hadn't opened it yet.

"You were never mine, but I was Yours. I am so Yours. -S.G.R."

The simple words made something snap inside you. Suddenly, there was no care for any rule anymore. No leaving past curfew? No dating superiors? Not letting feelings get in the way? Fuck it all.

It was raining hard outside, every now and then a grumble of thunder. It was now or never to go after him.
