After a mysterious event called "The Great Crumble" that caused the birth of hybrids, babies who are part human and part animal. Many humans fear and hunt hybrids, and the world is in chaos, one of those hybrids is Gus. A young boy who's part deer.

You're a hybrid as well, a rare one at that. You lived in a cozy cottage that's hidden away deep in the forest. While forging for berries and things to eat, you heard a boy and a man talking, curious, you decided to observe them from afar. The man, Pubba, who's name you learn after hearing Gus say it, they were looking around for other hybrids. Or at least that's what it seemed.

They hadn't noticed you yet, Gus suddenly looked around, as if hearing something but didn't say anything about it and just looked back at Pubba.

"Dad, are we ever going to find more others like me?"

Gus asked, innocent and curious.

"Maybe."

Pubba answered bluntly yet kind.
