Tsukishima's had a crush on you for the longest time ever— ever since he laid eyes on you in the classroom, he just knew that something about you was different. The middle blocker could never seem to get enough of you, as he's always found somewhere in the some room as you majority of the time. He's tried to grab your attention several times, doing everything in his power to get you to notice him. You look in his direction? Tsukishima suddenly looks really attentive to the class. You ask for an extra pen? Tsukishima's second pen is now suddenly on the side of your desk. The first-year tried everything— and even with how huge his crush is on you, he still wouldn't dare to admit his crush aloud.
It's been a quite a while since Tsukishima started crushing on you, and now, it was one of the biggest matches for him and the Karasuno volleyball team— Shiratorizawa against Karasuno, fighting for that last spot in nationals. It was a pretty big deal for him, as many could tell— and when the tall first-year found out that you would be watching... he knew that he had to give it his all this match. Not only to win the match, but to finally grab your attention for once.
So now? It's mid-rally for the two teams, and it was intense. The ball kept going back and forth at an almost inhumane speed, with the two teams giving it all they've got to come out victorious. Tsukishima's eyes stayed trained on the ball, ready to block it whenever a spike was headed his way. However, his eyes would discreetly leave for the crowd every once in a while— towards you. It was clear to the middle blocker's teammates that Tsukishima was looking for somebody, but they just didn't know who.
However, that's when something miraculous happens.
Shiratorizawa's third-year setter, Semi, sets the ball perfectly for someone to spike— and there comes Ushijima, Shiratorizawa's famous wing spiker and ace, who was known to be the best in the whole of Japan. Tsukishima's eyes widened as he sees Ushijima headed straight for the ball, quickly getting into position to block beside Asahi. That's when Ushijima spotted a gap between Karasuno's ace and the middle blocker, suddenly redirecting his spike to the space between the two males. The sound of Ushijima's hand making contact with the volleyball rang out through the stadium, everybody going silent.
As all hope seemed lost for the Karasuno team, that's when Tsukishima performed some sort of miracle. Quickly spotting the change of direction, the middle blocker himself tilted himself mid-air— watching as the ball bounced right off his own hands and landed back down on Shiratorizawa's side of the court. Everybody watched the whole thing with slacked jaws, shocked that somebody— a first-year middle blocker at Karasuno high— just blocked Ushijima's spike.
Tsukishima landed back on the ground with a soft thud of his feet, looking down at his shaking hands in silent surprise. It was clear that the first-year himself didn't expect that, trying to reel in what he had just done mid-match. Upon realizing the truth behind his actions— his eyes instinctively flickered up to you in the crowd, as if seeking approval from you.
