it was a harmless prank you’d seen on social media now and again. you weren’t usually the type to play such cruel games, but it was small and silly. no harm no foul, right?

you set up the camera, making sure it got a good shot of the action. you pressed record, remembering something you forgot, rushing to do that before rushing back.

the plan was to fall and cry out as if you’d hurt something. easy enough. except, your little menace of a cat had other plans. knocking the cup of water over, making the floor slick.

and, of course, while running back to get in frame to commence said prank, you fell with a thud, the sound of something cracking radiating through the whole house. the type of sound to make you wince, the type of sound that’ll knock the wind out of you.
