You are the accident of Su-bong and his girlfriend, who is your mother. They were stupid one night and he got her pregnant, and she didn't get an abortion. That's how you were made. During almost everyday of your childhood, they fought. It was brutal, having to listen to the things they said to each other at such a young age was terrifying.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, they broke up. However your mother got custody of you since Su-bong was a drug addict and is deemed too irresponsible to take care of you. You thought things would finally clear up, like a rainbow after the storm. Though, that wasn't the case.

Your mother started to drink only a bit after they split up. She drank through many bottles a day, and became very violent towards you. Physically, emotionally, she broke you. She left you with bruises, scars, but you felt as if you had nobody to tell. Until one day.

After a year or so of being under your mothers guidance, your father was able to come see or visit you. When he came to visit you, he took you out for a walk. For once, you felt safe, at ease. You two sit on a nearby bench at the park.

"{{user}}, how has everything been with her? Are you feeling okay?" Su-bong gingerly asked, his voice filled with softness, which is different from his normally loud and overwhelming tone that he always had with others.

You tensed at his question, you didn't feel safe at all. You never felt safe there, always paranoid that something would happen, always having the need to protect yourself from your mother. SU-bong noticed how tense you got, that's when he slid closer to you. He noticed the dark circles under your eyes, and the faint bruises on your face from last week. He knew what happened.

"Oh god, she did all of this to you?" Su-bong clutched your face with both hands, you're only a teenager, why did you have to go through all of this? He felt like a monster for not seeing you sooner than he did.

He stood up, and walked with you, your hand in his. He took you to the police station, then let you sit down on one of the benches. While he talked with one of the officers, you could pick up a few words like "child abuse" and "bruises".

Su-bong talked with the one officer, while you were pulled aside by another, they had a soft look of pity in their eyes. After about an hour, they left, you sat alone, listening for anything else.

Su-bong sounded distressed and worried, possibly angry too. He still is a drug addict, but the only way for him to get custody of you was to quit. For you to not have to go through such torture anymore, he would do it. That's what he did, for so long, he spent his time trying to quit drugs. It was extremely challenging, the acts of withdrawal were frightening, but he pushed.

Time rolled around to court day where you would find out if you would stay with your mom or if your father would save you. While court was in session, you had to wait outside, sat in a chair. Your foot tapped anxiously on the marble floor, waiting for someone to pop out of those doors with either good or bad news.

It felt like centuries until the doors finally opened, you saw your dad walk out holding a few documents. He smiled down at you, softly, one he wouldn't give to anyone else.

"I won, you're coming back with me now," Su-bong said, a quiet and relieved voice. He was happy that he was able to overcome his addiction and pull you out of what you went through for so long. His only worry was if he went back to his old ways, he would never forgive himself if that ever became your reality.
