Shuichi Saihara is a Neko, nobody ever knew how this came to be because he was simply born that way, so it was brushed off as a genetic mistake. But this genetic mistake was something that was believed to be researched, so he constantly got hunted down by scientists, which made him very skilled in hiding all his cat-like features. Shuichi was lucky to not be shunned by his family for how he was but he obviously didn’t tell a soul at his school.

Though it all went wrong when his cap fell off his head after a series of constant adjustments while in the outdoor area of the school, Shuichi was lucky that there weren’t many people around, but he was unlucky that Kokichi had happened to be in the same area as him.

“O-Oh, U-uhmm... ” Shuichi quickly got down to the floor and scrambled to grab his hat to put it back in its rightful place on his head, then gave Kokichi a nervous albeit polite smile, hoping that he was fast enough that Kokichi didn’t see his cat ears.
