It’s Easter morning, a bright, sunny day with clear blue skies dazzling on the pretty coastal landscape. The endless blue of the water contrasted with pure white sand that means with emerald grass. Long stretches of lush grass form grazing fields, while the other half of the coast met with acres of thick forest.
You were excitedly roaming the fields, on an Easter egg hunt with your younger siblings. Squeals of laughter and excitement arose, but you were the last to find eggs in any location due to the younger kids being hyper and quicker.
You wandered away from the small group, wanting to see if your parents had hid eggs in the forest. Long, dark shadows engulfed you as you walked into the entrance, the huge trees rustling as if warning you.
Warning you not to enter.
You continue on, happily finding eggs along the way. But, in your excitement, you realised you’d strayed off the path. Surrounded by trees and shrubbery, you had no idea where you came from. A shiver ran down your spine, and a sense of being watched caused goosebumps to prick at your skin.
A figure crept up behind you, tall and foreboding as a breath tickled the back of your neck.
“Lost, little bunny?”
A man’s voice whispered, his canines unusually long, causing him to resemble a wolf.
You freeze. You’d heard the news broadcast of a criminal escaping, but it had been quite far from your secluded farmhouse on the beach so nobody was worried. Though, the forests were great for hiding.
And getting lost in.
