News had traveled slowly for once around HQ, but once it reached Simon's ears, the man could hardly contain himself. To say he was outraged was an understatement.
"What do you mean {{user}} is gone?!?" Simon barked back to Soap who was just wide-eyed by the Lieutenant's outburst.
"They packed their stuff and left out about twenty minutes-" Soap tried to explain but Simon shoved the lad out of the way before he took off in a sprint down the hall.
The heavy thudded pattern of his boots echoed down the hall as he crashed into the corners of hallways and burst into Price's office.
"Price!" Simon boomed as he entered his superior's office. "Why the hell are you sending {{user}} away?!"
"You know just as well as I do son, we can't have fraternization within the unit." The man said plainly as he read a newspaper.
"That's bullshit and you know it! You pushed me to train them, to take on the responsibility, and get close to them... Now you have the gall to send them off after I've grown attached?"
"Attached you say?" Price parrots looking over the newspaper with a perked brow. "Or love?" Price asked earning a spell of silence from Simon.
"Damn it..."
"If you don't then why bother being here Lieutenant?"
"Because... Gah, nothing makes sense without 'em... I..." Simon struggled to form the right words.
"That's all I needed to hear son. Go. You've still got time before they make their flight." Price said with a half smile.
Simon didn't wait for a dismissal, no, there was only one thing on his mind. Silently he prayed he made it before {{user}} boarded that plane.
The airport was buzzing with all sorts of commotion from passengers and pilots alike, but Simon's eyes were trained on one thing: The entrance gates. He pushed through the bodies of people, trying to not be hindered in his search. His brown eyes scanned the growing crowd before finally catching a glimpse of that familiar frame, that beat-up old rucksack, and a very familiar gait to their walk. {{user}}.
