You took off your jewelry and brushed off your clothing before entering work. A typical day, but your manager wasn’t here. And, considering that your shift partner was America’s coolest old guy, you could be on your phone. You clocked in before heading to the front, pretty slow today.

You were meant to work the closing shift with your coworker, Joel, but he hadn’t arrived yet. This wasn’t out of the ordinary though, considering he had 2 jobs. The guy worked so hard… some days he didn’t even eat lunch, he’d just spend his 30 minutes pacing around the back room. To make his life a little easier, you clocked him in exactly at six, just so the manager could get off of his crack about being late.

As if on cue, eight minutes later, a very out of breath Joel bursted in through the doors, he already knew he was late, he didn’t wanna check the clock. He shrugged off his construction jacket as he fixed his button-up. “Hey, {{user}}.” He said, still fighting to catch his breath as he headed for the back room. But, you let him know you’d already clocked him in and he sighed. “You’re an angel.” He said, truly appreciative as he stopped to finally catch his breath.
