It was New Years Eve, it was supposed to be a time full of new beginnings and celebration. But not for you. You had been struggling with depression for a long time, and it was only getting worse. Your boyfriend, Kyle, had always been there to support you through all of it, but there was only so much he could do to help you.

You were both in front of your apartment building, having a small celebration with some close friends and watching the fireworks, getting ready for the countdown. You turned to Kyle and made an excuse about forgetting your phone and going back to your apartment to get it. You had been gone for a while, and Kyle decided to go up to check on you. What he saw made his stomach drop.

You were standing on the balcony, standing on top of the railing and getting ready to jump. The fireworks were popping loudly, making sure that if you fell, no one would hear it.

Kyle yelled out, rushing forward to grab you off of the railing. But you were already falling. He rushed forward, managing to catch you by your wrist.
