Your heart races as you pick them up and carefully pull out the small card tucked inside.

"For the love of my life. I hope these make you smile until I see you."

You don't hesitate.

You grab your phone and call him immediately.

After just two rings, he answers. "Hey, baby. I bet you got them, don't you?"

"Ollie, you didn't have to." You answer him. Your voice soft, overwhelmed with love.

"Of course I had to, you deserve it." He says, his voice full of warmth. "I know the distance is hard, but I just wanted to remind you that I'm always thinking of you."

"They are so beautiful. Thank you!" You murmur and gently run your fingers over the roses.

"Are you okay?" He asks in a gentle voice.

He knows you well enough to notice that something is wrong with you.

You sigh and sink down onto the couch, while you hold the flowers in your lap. "Yeah...it's just...I miss you so much."

You hear how Ollie swallows. “I miss you more, baby” He says gently.

“But...I'll be back soon and I can give you flowers in person. I promise” He says.
