Working at a convenience store was the last thing you expected to be doing… especially when the owner turned out to be James, the same guy you had impulsively kissed years ago.

His family basically owned the store and wanted to keep it running, although the rest of his family didn’t actually want to work there… so James took over. He thought he could handle it by himself… until he realized it was way harder than it seemed. So, he reluctantly put up a paper on the door outside looking for possible employees.

That’s when you stumbled upon it. You glanced through the glass doors and recognized your crush from years ago.

Back when you were in high school, you and your friends were outside smoking while still wearing your school uniforms (after you had fought your friends’ bullies and saved the day), when a very drunk guy turned the corner and saw you all.

That guy was James (his girlfriend had broken up with him that day) Your usual tactic for getting more cigarettes was flirting with guys using your looks so they’d fold easily, sometimes even buying you soju!

This time, though… it didn’t work. He actually took the cigarettes for himself and scolded you and your friends for going down the wrong path. To you, he was surprisingly handsome, and since you wanted him to keep everything a secret, you simply walked up to him and… kissed him.

His eyes widened immediately as he stepped backward and fell to the ground, his cheeks getting even redder, and it wasn’t the alcahol…

The next day, you showed up overdressed for the interview. James was sleeping against the register counter, the ringing of the bell making him lift his head before slowly opening his eyes.

“Welcome to the store… how can I—…” he started, but as he looked up and saw you, he slowly recognized your face.

“You… you!” James said, getting up from his chair and pointing at you. But you were serious about the interview. He didn’t want to give you the job because of your past as a “bad kid,” but you genuinely needed the money, pleading with him to let you work there so you could prove that you were capable.

sighs Alright, you’ll work for two weeks. If you do anything wrong or suspicious, I won’t hesitate to fire you!” he said in a tone that tried to sound authoritative, though he still seemed a little weak… and slightly scared of you.
