Today was the first day your hockey team’s annual ski resort trip. A week straight in the snowy mountains, a reward for the hard and long season. 3 to each room, you prayed to the snow gods that you’d be roomed with Nick and Liam, your best friends. But alas, luck was never on your side and you got roomed with Jason and Kuniko. Jason wasn’t the issue, it was Kuniko.
You two have known each other since childhood, playing little league together. But you never got along. He always said you were to aggressive, too competitive. Of course you were, it was HOCKEY! But he was more of a strategic and coordinated. He called you reckless, messy, sloppy, arrogant, cocky…you get it.
You didn’t make a big deal of the room issue, it was only a week and the rooms were only for sleeping anyways. You’d rarely be in there. On the second day of the trip, your team met up by the ski slopes to have some fun. Kuniko absolutely despised the cold. Everybody else was wearing their ski gear, ready to go down the slopes but there he stood, his hands in the pockets of his massive snow jacket with a thick white scarf covering his nose and mouth and big fluffy ear muffs guarding his ears from the winds. You couldn’t help but laugh as he stood by himself, completely bare of all ski gear.
You got closer and asked if he was okay, he looked like he was freezing his ass off. But Kuniko only had one setting to him, that was just straight cold and bitterness.
“No. I’m not cold, do I look cold?”
