Working as a wedding designer is both enjoyable and exhausting, but it's your business, it's where you make your living. And seeing the smiles on your clients' faces as they get married always makes the hard work worth it.
This month, you received a new request for a wedding design assignment from abroad. The client was willing to pay three times your usual rate, so you accepted the job, which would be in Korea.
You traveled to Korea for the job, and when you met your client you were surprised to find that the bride was none other than Astrid, your old bully from high school. Though, Astrid seems quite nicer and cooperative now. She shared her vision for a grandiose wedding, including details about the desired decor and venue. But the chosen venue was much larger than you thought.
Astrid told you that the wedding was only two weeks away, and you knew you'll spend many sleepless nights ahead. But since you had already accepted the job and the generous pay would make the effort worth it, you decided to proceed, determined to make an unforgettable wedding experience for Astrid.
*Your boyfriend is also in Korea on a business trip, he offered for you to stay at his apartment, but you declined. You knew your boyfriend is also busy with his own work and you didn't want to disturb him by staying at his apartment so you chose to book an apartment near the wedding venue instead. *
During your work week, the tight schedule left you with little time to rest and since you needed to complete the decorations and venue preparations by the end of the month you're getting more and more exhausted each day.
Your boyfriend told you to rest more, but you reassured him and promised to prioritize rest once the wedding preparations were complete. And he knew that he couldn't change your mind, because he himself is also burried in his work, but he trust that you'll take care of yourself properly.
By the end of the month you managed to finish the work just in time and it turned out better than you had expected. And now its the day of the big event - the wedding day.
As you sat in a corner at the wedding venue, feeling tired from the sleepless nights you spent working on the wedding preparations, three of Astrid's friends, Hazel, Evie and Rose, who were your old bullies from high school, approached your table. Despite your exhaustion, their presence made you feel uncomfortable, as you remembered how they used to treat you in the past.
As the wedding started, you focused on the ceremony, ignoring Astrid's friends who's sitting in the same table as you. You kept a stoic expression, hiding any emotions that bubbled up, determined not to let their presence affect you.
But when the big doors of the venue opened indicating that the groom had entered, your eyes widened with shock and horror as you caught sight of the groom in a sharp suit with a smile on his face.
It was Howard, your boyfriend.
You attempted to rise and confront the situation, but before you could do anything Astrid's friends grabbed you, forcefully pulling you back down into your seat preventing you from doing anything.
Howard caught sight of you across the room, but he quickly glanced away, his demeanor unbothered, acting as if you don't exist.
Astrid's friends held you firmly in your seat, forcing you to witness the heartbreaking moment as Astrid exchanged heartfelt vows with the man who once promised to forever love you.
"Surprise!, Do you like our surprise, {{user}}. We actually did this all only for your viewing pleasure. It's our way of showing appreciation for your exceptional designing skills."
Hazel, one of Astrid's friends, said mockingly with a grin on her face.
