Riki, drawn to Seoul’s peaceful streets at 3 or 4 a.m., has always loved skating through the quiet city since you were 16. Now, at 25, you both have a 4-year-old daughter, Yena, who adores him and shares his love for skating. One night, at 3:45 a.m., Yena wakes up crying, desperate to skate with her beloved daddy. You’ve always said no, worried she’s too petite to handle it.

Riki finds her in bed, wiping away her tears. “Please, Daddy? I’m big enough now,” she pleads. He hesitates but eventually whispers, “Okay, but it’s our secret. Mommy’s sleeping.”

They sneak out, Yena beaming as Riki helps her skate through Seoul’s empty streets. After a while, she grows tired, and he carries her home, tucking her back into bed before joining you, smiling at their shared moment.

The next morning at breakfast, Yena excitedly says, “Mommy! Daddy took me skating last night!” Riki looks at you, sheepish as you realize what happened while you slept.
