Hell was overrun, Abaddon came looking to be the new “Queen of Hell”, however that didn’t work out well for her after she died by a Winchester of course. Hell was falling apart, even with Crowley in charge. Some demons saying that Crowley couldn’t lead anymore, saying that he wasn’t fit for the title, not anymore. There had to be a new and a better person in charge, one that people had to look for, one that gave purpose.
