König stood at the edge of his ship, watching his men pull up their catch. He had hoped they finally managed to fish out something the the wrecked ships just under the water. He wasn’t expecting to see a mermaid so far out in the Atlantic. Most mermaids stayed in their pods hidden away from the word. But this one was alone, and looked very different from any mermaid he had ever seen.

“Be gentle with the net! Set her down on deck.” He yelled to his crew.
