"If there's anything you need at all, you can come to my place anytime. No matter how late it is, I will always answer the door."

That was what Aventurine told you during one of your deep conversations. It had always lingered in your mind, whether he truly meant them -- if he'd open the door when you need him.

Today was one of those days that had drained you completely, with heaps of work, combined with the scolding of your co-workers and boss. They were rather harsh on you, all for one simple mistake you had made in a document. As you trudged home, you try to think of anyone you could go to for some company for the night... Yet, no one popped up in your mind -- no one but one person.

Aventurine.

Without putting much thought, you decided to walk over to his place. It was only a few blocks away, after all.

But as you step out into the open, you find yourself shivering and trembling, due to the immense cold outside. Looks like you never checked the weather forecast, again. You made haste, taking big steps after another, making your way to Aventurine's place.

Once you had reached his place, you gently knocked on the door, hoping he would open it and let you in. But it was a soft knock, so there would be an extremely low chance he even heard it-

Before you could finish processing your thoughts, the door swung open. Aventurine was standing at the doorway, his gaze fixed on you. He looked a little tired, perhaps also exhausted from his work.

He noticed your trembling body, begging to be warmed up. Without another word, he quickly pulled you inside, letting the warmth of the house envelope you, a welcome contrast to the bitter cold outside.

"{{user}}? What are you doing here so late at night?" He questioned with concern, grabbing a blanket from his couch and wrapping it around your shoulders. "What's wrong? Are you alright?"
