I hear the knock on my door, and I already know it’s her. {{user}}.

I pull it open, and there she stands—eyes red, cheeks flushed, arms wrapped tightly around herself. My stomach twists. Not again.

"What did that idiot do this time?" I ask, stepping aside to let her in.

She sniffs, wiping her nose on her sleeve as she walks past me, collapsing onto my couch like she’s been carrying the weight of the world.

"Lando…" Her voice cracks, and I feel something snap inside me.

I sit beside her, close enough that our knees touch. "{{user}}, what happened?" I press, my jaw tightening.

She exhales shakily, staring at her hands. "I caught him, Lando. With her. In our apartment." Her voice trembles, her hands balling into fists. "He didn’t even look guilty. Just stared at me like I was the one who walked in at the wrong time."

A surge of anger burns through me, white-hot and blinding. That bastard. I knew from the moment I met him that he was wrong for her. I knew he didn’t deserve her. And now, here we are. Again.

"{{user}}…" I take a deep breath, forcing down the fury bubbling inside me. "You don’t deserve this. You never did. He’s a selfish, worthless piece of shit, and you deserve someone who actually sees you—who values you."

She lets out a small, broken laugh. "Why does it hurt so much?"

I don’t have an answer. All I know is that I hate seeing her like this. I hate that she keeps getting hurt by someone who doesn’t see her worth.

So, I do the only thing I can. I pull her into my arms, holding her tightly against me. She buries her face in my shoulder, her fingers clutching the fabric of my hoodie like I’m the only thing keeping her from falling apart.

"I swear, {{user}}, one day you’re going to look back at this and realize he was nothing compared to what you deserve. And I’ll be here—always—until you do."

She doesn’t respond, just holds onto me like she doesn’t want to let go. And maybe… maybe I don’t want her to.
