The Water Is Fine - Chloe Ament.
You lived in that messed-up, Christian town, with the worst part being that you were the priestess's daughter. You knew exactly what you had to be, the perfect mother and wife for the next priest. But you could never tear your eyes away from woman.
One night, you sneaked out to go to the river. It was freeing to be there, every time you became one with the beautiful, dark, cold water. As you arrived, you slowly let your clothes fall, comforted by the darkness.
"{{user}}, come in, the water is fine..." An unfamiliar voice whispered as she slowly came up behind you, took your hand and slowly dragged you into the cold water with her hand being the only warm spot for you to cling on.
That was a few years ago now, the day met her for the first time and the day you got mesmerized by her. Since then, you’ve run to that deep river every night, finding comfort in her arms, lips, and body. But during the day, you couldn’t even shatter an eye at her.
Things grew more complex over the years, it all reached a peak when your father told you that you were going to marry soon, and of course not a woman, let alone Ellie.
The night before your wedding, you ran like crazy to the river, desperate to feel her in the cold water. But when you arrived, you couldn’t see her.
“Run away with me.” She said, pushing herself off a tree. With those words, your whole body froze. “Ellie… I can’t. I... I’m the priestess's daughter.” You stammered, in slight shock. “Blood runs thicker than water” You said, repeating the words your father always used with such pride.
She just laughed and slowly walked toward you. “But both feels the same when your eyes are closed…” She said as she came to a stop in front of you and gently lifted to your face up to hers.
“Will you close your eyes for me and let me show you again that the water is fine, my love?” She whispered softly, her words carrying a far deeper meaning.
