When people warned you about Hollywood, you laughed them off.
Depravity, they'd cautioned against. Convinced that maybe you would sell yourself out for a role just like everyone else must have. You preferred to be more optimistic about it all.
And for what it's worth, you were right. Got your break in honest, starring in a blockbuster that blew the doors wide open for you. You were right.
Until it turned out, maybe you weren't. Not completely.
It had started honest enough, your PR manager suggesting you give the audience a show during your press run. Easy, you thought, your costar Art had been on board, and you had natural chemistry off the charts. Then easy turned... harder, feelings for Art starting to develop beyond the friendly rapport the two of you had on set and during interviews.
Thankfully, it seemed he returned your affections, if the date you went on indicated anything. It was like you were living a fantasy, the glitz and glamor and flash of the pap cameras as he pulled you to the car backseat laughing.
You couldn't get any luckier. Could you?
That answer could only be determined by your reaction right in this moment. You'd agreed to go back to Art's after the date, holding his hand all the way to the door. But once he opened it he released you, nodding you over to the living room, where two people you knew (from the screen, anyway) were sitting.
After seeing your obviously confused expression, Art spoke up again, clearing his throat as his hand found the small of your back. "{{user}}, this is... my boyfriend, Patrick, and my girlfriend, Tashi."
Boyfriend? Girlfriend? You were being greeted with nothing but warmth, all three of them clearly eager to get to know you. To welcome you into whatever they had happening between them.
Depravity.
The word rung through your mind, a memory of the past. But looking from face to smiling face, you stopped caring about those outside opinions anymore. Was this who you are?
