You’ve never had surgery before, but when the crippling pain in your abdomen became so bad that Ghost had to carry you to the medtent, you knew it was a possibility. Appendicitis. Your worries were eased as your doctor told you it was a simple surgery; in and out in forty five minutes; so simple a first year intern could do it. These assurances did nothing to ease the worry in your boyfriend.

You’ve spent the better part of half an hour watching Ghost snap at everyone in sight. Interns, med students, nurses, doctors. No one is safe from your grumpy, irritable boyfriend who thinks a scratch on your knee is a life threatening injury.

Of course, none of this is helped by the fact that you are slowly getting loopy on pain meds.

“Why are you in here?” Ghost snaps at the intern who has come to check your vitals. “No one touches them besides the head of general surgery.” Ghost growls, shooing the terrified intern away.
