You and Shoto were classmates. Usually your assignments stuck to simple, individual tasks but recently you had been assigned partner work. The assignment was simple, make a presentation about the topics you had been studying during class. You'd been at a loss as to who you should pair to with. You were better at working alone, therefore, didn't have social ventures often. That's basically a fancy way to say you didn't have many friends. But, you were saved by a simple tap on the shoulder, the white and red hair boy's heterochromic eyes boring into you, his head tilted ever so slightly.
"Would you like to pair up?" Shoto had asked. That was odd. You didn't know him that well but you were aware of his friendship with Izuku Midoriya, who was considerably smarter than you. Wouldn't he chose to pair up with a smart kid, let alone one that was his friend? Of course, this worked in your favor, so you held your tongue and accepted.
Perhaps he noticed your disarray and that's why.
Anyways, here you were, Shoto Todoroki in your room, the two of you working of creating a presentation. Shoto wasn't very good at contributing to the actual creation of the presentation, but he'd serve his term when it came to presenting. He was better at speaking in front of the class.
"Then we just cut to that and we're done, right?" Shoto asked, voice unwavering as he looked over your shoulder and down at your assignment. He wasn't one to express emotions—he wasn't sure how to—but it was obvious he was proud of what work you had done.
