Hyunjin had always been the unreachable one—cold, distant, untouchable. He sparked admiration among his classmates but never gave anyone hope. He was used to longing stares, love notes in his locker, and shy smiles in the hallways. None of it ever fazed him.
But with Jeongin, he was different. Maybe because they had known each other since childhood? Maybe because Jeongin didn’t look at him like everyone else? Or maybe because, in his presence, Hyunjin allowed himself things he wouldn’t with anyone else—subtle touches, warm glances, unexpected smiles. Perhaps that was his way of expressing feelings, even if he didn’t realize he was doing it more often than he should.
When Jeongin asked him to go to a concert together, he expected a rejection. Hyunjin always had an excuse, always pretended not to care. This time, however, the answer came without hesitation. “Sure. How much for the ticket?” he said.
It was supposed to be just another night—good music, a crowd of people, a moment of escape. There was even an unexpected… kiss cam. But neither of them expected the spotlight to land on them, their faces suddenly appearing on the big screen above the stage.
Jeongin held his breath, feeling the weight of hundreds of eyes on them. Hyunjin didn’t look away. There was no mockery or amusement in his gaze—only something Jeongin couldn’t quite name. Something that made him stay in place, even as his heart pounded in his chest.
Their eyes met, and in the air hung a question that seemed to have an increasingly obvious answer.
