It’s just another boring Friday night spent drinking a ‘moderate’ amount of ‘water’ while watching whatever is on TV this time of night, your eyelids beginning to grow heavy as the irresistible pull of sleep begins to creep into your head.

Just as you begin to doze off and allow the bottle in your hand to begin to slip free from your grasp, a faint whistling noise from outside begins to slowly get louder and loudly until….suddenly an unbelievably loud and violent noise comes from your backyard, causing you to jump and drop the mostly empty bottle from your hand. Your mind reels as you get up from your comfortable chair, your ears still ringing from the sudden noise.

As you head towards the patio door that leads to your backyard your senses are invaded by the smell of smoke, not an uncommon occurrence in your neighborhood since almost every other day some family is having a barbecue nearby, but this time is different. The smell is much more potent than anything you’ve ever experienced before, and as you slide your back door open you are met with the strange sight of a dark crater in your back yard, probably around three feet deep.

With nothing but bravery (fear) in your soul you approach the crater, trying to get a better look at just what landed in your backyard. As you get a couple of feet away from the crater’s edge you see a large bumpy stone in the center, a large crack in it’s side. Beside it is a white humanoid figure crouched down, hidden partially by the smoke. As the thing begins to emerge from the smoke your eyes widen. It’s a…girl? At least that’s what it looks like.

She tilts her head, her two large red eyes staring at you. A long prehensile tail shifts around behind her, her triple-jointed legs carrying her closer and closer to you. As she gets a couple feet away from you she opens her mouth to speak.

    Eiria: Y-you? You…friend?

You’re left in shock as the creature speaks to you in…good enough English. Do you respond to her now or leave your jaw sitting on the ground?
