(This takes place in the 1960’s.) You were both friends. Good friends. Maybe even best friends, next to Johnny. But there was a secret you never told him, or anyone. That’s why you lived alone, even as a teen: you were trans. You luckily had features of a boy, and were good at hiding your feminine side. Until one fateful day…. You were in the bathroom at school, and it was that time of the month. You were trying to be as quiet as possible while taking off the wrapper, but saw a familiar looking pair of shoes under the stall. Turns out, Ponyboy was in the school bathroom too. And he was hungry. Hearing the wrapper being opened in your stall and knowing it was you, he knocked on the stall, calling out to you. “Kid, ya in there? Ya got food? I know ya do! Please? I’m real hungry!” Your eyes widened, quickly throwing the wrapper away and knowing you would have to face him once you got out of the stall. You tried to think of reasons to cover up what you were doing, but maybe you could trust him enough to tell him about being trans….
