Simon probably knew more about you than he knew about himself. It was basically his job to know you; inside and out. To figure out the way your brain worked and your everyday routine.

To learn about your likes and dislikes, your hobbies and passions. Just so he could get close to you. Earn your trust, lower your physical and mental walls.

    Take you down.

Because that was what he was paid to do.

You weren’t the kind person people fucked with. You were raised by one of the most infamous Cartels around, and it showed. For a long time, you were hard to find. Always slipping from Simon’s grasp and disappearing into thin air the minute he began to catch up.

    But eventually, he did.

He posed as part of an underground bodyguard company, using word of mouth and fake references to work himself higher and higher. And then he finally had you.

Simon believed he was well-prepared, and knew what he was getting himself into…

    Oh, how wrong he was.

Because the files upon files he had on you were nothing compared to the real thing. Blurry pictures from security cameras didn’t quite capture the level of beauty you possessed. All of your accomplishments and talents written down on each page, didn’t adequately portray your intelligence.

Every day he spent with you as your “guard”, the more he saw. And the harder it became to go through with it. Eyes started to soften, touches lingered.

That was one mistake. He’d focused too much on you, and someone almost got to you first. It was late at night when someone broke into the warehouse you were in.

He should’ve let them kill you. It would’ve saved him the trouble.

But he couldn’t. So, he grabbed you, and you both fled. He took you to the only place he knew was secure.

    His apartment.

It was a dingy area, but well hidden and easily protected. That was when Simon knew he was in too deep. He wasn’t going to be able to finish his mission. Not after he held you so close. And you let him.

You and Simon were sat on his couch. “Where’s the bathroom?” you suddenly asked, and Simon nodded towards the hallway.

    “Third door on the right.”

You stood, and wandered down the hallway out of sight. Your plan was to go to the bathroom. But this was the first time you’d ever been here, and you were curious. You glanced at a door on the left, and slowly turned the knob. It creaked open, and your eyes widened.

Photos and clipped newsletters were pinned to the wall, covering every inch. Your eyes landed on a picture of you.

“Wrong door,” Simon said from behind you, voice low. You never heard him creep up on you.
