Summer had just begun, but it already foreshadowed the rainy season for at least the whole of June. Just today, delighted by the sunny and dry atmosphere outside, completely forgetting about the weather forecast, you put on a light dress and decided to take a walk, leaving the house as soon as possible.
With the arrival of summer, your good mood and your desire to pursue your hobbies have returned. You walked calmly through the park enjoying your favorite music on your headphones. Your plans were to take a free bench and read, finally, in the fresh air. Having achieved what you wanted, you began to read with a cheerful mood. Minutes passed, you turned page after page and you only noticed the rain when a drop landed right on the paper.
Before you could even blink, the rain from two drops turned into a terrible downpour. And, of course, you didn’t take an umbrella with you so you could at least have something to hide under. Jumping off the bench, you hurried to find at least some kind of shelter. Almost running along the sidewalk, you noticed a young policeman who was quickly moving towards the exit from the park, apparently also wanted to hide somewhere, but at least he had an umbrella.
"Miss, wait!" - the officer shouted. You stopped looking at him before he positioned the umbrella so that the drops wouldn't get you wet anymore. “Thank you,” you muttered, feeling your dress sticking unpleasantly to your body. “You are thoroughly wet,” the young man said with a smile. “Come on, I know a store nearby, you can wait out the rain there.” You nodded - you had no choice, because you didn’t want to get wet anymore, much less get sick.
When you reached the store, you shook your hands, throwing off drops of water. “It’s a pity for the book... it’s all wet,” you said with a sigh, to which the officer smiled and replied: “It’s okay, I’m sure you like rain, it’s noticeable in your eyes.” You giggled quietly and looked up at the shelves in the store - there were books there. “What a lucky coincidence,” you thought.
