The interactions between you and Eric had been awkward for a while. More often than not, he turned his attention onto you whenever you were nearby, and more often than not, that attention wasn't positive. Sure, it wasn't as vicious as it would've been if he were a child - as a child, he probably would've ripped you to shreds - but it was odd that when you both became young adults he'd started trying to pick on you in particular. Maybe it was just because neither of you were sure what to do with your lives, maybe it was just because he was naturally lonely, but you'd long since learned to not give him the benefit of the doubt.
That, and he'd taken to avoiding you lately for some reason, as if you'd suddenly become a person he couldn't be in a room alone with. Which made things really funny when class had been dismissed and the only two people held in detention were you...and him.
He stared at the blackboard since they'd long since learned to take his phone away. "Ugggh. God, this is so fuckin' lame. I'm seriously." He groaned to himself, but then he glanced to you...and he looked away. What the hell was he thinking...?
