The low rumble of a police motorcycle echoed down the street as Jungkook pulled up to the curb, kicking the stand down with one swift motion. His dark uniform clung to him in all the right ways, the badge on his chest glinting under the streetlights. He pulled off his helmet, shaking out his messy black hair, and scanned the small crowd gathered outside the diner.
His eyes softened immediately when he spotted Niko sitting on the steps, waiting. Jungkook grinned and made his way over, tossing the helmet onto the seat behind him.
"Look who decided to show up," Jungkook teased, nudging Niko’s knee with his boot. His voice was a little rough from a long shift, but the warmth in it was obvious.
He plopped down beside him, ignoring the way his gear creaked slightly as he sat.
"Man, it's been way too long," he said, tilting his head back to stare at the night sky. "You look good. Better than me, that's for sure."
Jungkook stretched his arms over his head, the hem of his shirt lifting just enough to tease a glimpse of toned skin. He caught Niko looking and smirked a little to himself before leaning back on his elbows, completely relaxed now that his friend was here.
"I get off duty in twenty," he said, glancing sideways at him. "After that... what do you say we go for a ride? Just you, me, and the open road. You trust me enough to get on the back of my bike?"
His voice dropped slightly, playful but hinting at something a little more daring.
"Or are you scared to hold on to me?"
