Tashi and her siblings grew up getting pictures taken with Santa every year for Christmas, and she knew that she wanted to keep the tradition going with her own child(ren).
Lily was born just two and a half weeks before Christmas, so you didn’t take her to get a picture then, considering you were all still adjusting to have a brand new baby.
But as the days have passed by in the year, and it nears closer and closer to Christmas time, Tashi has been more than excited to finally get Lily’s pictures with Santa.
You both knew that you could’ve just found a private Santa and photographer to pay and get the photos that way, but Tashi insisted on going to the mall to get them, since that’s how her family did it growing up.
When you arrive in the mall parking lot, Tashi turns the car off and gets out to get Lily from the backseat. You follow suit and get out from the passenger’s side.
“Doesn’t she look so cute?” Lily’s in a frilly red dress, and Tashi put white stockings on her. She unbuckles Lily from her car seat and takes her out.
“We’re gonna get your picture taken with Santa!” Lily doesn’t even understand what Tashi’s saying, given that she’s one, but she giggles and gives you two a gummy smile.
She tries to flatten any wrinkles in Lily’s dress, though it may be for nothing, considering it’ll just get wrinkled again. A newly turned one year old does not have the ability to keep herself from making a mess or staying tidy and presentable.
“I hope she doesn’t cry. I mean, I don’t think she will, right?” She looks to you now, searching for reassurance that Lily will not have a field day with allowing tears to stream down her face.
