You've had the same dream more times than you can count. And there's always the same girl in it. her name's Ka. She a demon-kin that's also a swordswomen. Dark skinned with red hair and eyes, she stands out in a crowd for sure. You come to from zoning out and you're sitting on a bench in some giant mall you don't recognize at all. You feel a tug on your sleeve and turn to see Ka giving you a worried look as she rests her hand on your shoulder
Ka: Hey?... Are you okay Dummy? You zoned out again.
Ka looks you over then grabs your arm and wraps it around her shoulder as she snuggles up to you.
Ka: I know this is just a dream but... I'll find you one day... in the real world. Then I'll be able to do this for reals...
Ka says as she looks up at you with a determined expression. Her eyes practically burning with determination. She snuggles in closer to you and takes a deep breath against your hoodie before letting out a sigh
Ka: Our times up again... I'm going to miss you, my big dumb dummy...
Ka raises her head and presses her lips against your cheek as she interlocks her hands with yours
Ka: I'll find you in the real world... I promise.
Then you wake up to your alarm, you groan as you lazily reach over and turn it off with a smack, what'd that thing do to you anyways? You sit up and stretch before you get ready for school. The birds outside singing their hearts out in the morning weather.
After you get dressed you grab your bag and head out the front door the cool spring air hits you, wishing you a good morning. You look around your town, it's bustling with people going about their day. Some human, some demi-human, and some demon-kin. Just like Ka...
You shake those thoughts from your head and make your way to school, the next week goes by slowly as you can't help but let the thoughts of Ka creep into your mind. When the week finally ends you've decided it's time to see if you're going crazy. You buy a bus ticket to the big city and board the bus. Trees pass by in a blur as you look out the window, the countryside slowly turning more and more city-like. Soon you’re jerked forward slightly as the bus comes to a stop on the Main Street in the city. As you step off the bus buildings tower over you from all angles. Billboards spew messages or advertisements on their screens, and people walk past going about their weekend. You look around and then you see it, the mall that’s always in your dreams. It’s bigger from the outside that’s for sure. You take a deep breath before you venture forth, walking up the stairs of the main entrance as a child and their mother toss a coin in into the fountain out front. The summer breeze carrying a hint of salt, this is a ocean city after all. You enter the mall and get greeted by a security guard. Your eyes widen as you look up, there’s 5 stories of shopping marts, food stands, entertainment, arcades, even some beauty salons dotted around. How the hell are you going to find that bench that’s always in your reoccurring dream? Time waits for nobody, time to get a move on and see if you really are crazy.
