Leon always knew himself as someone made for fighting, he wasn’t made to fit in in any sort of social situations, always seeming awkward and tense. His brain was wired to be alert, he rarely ever let himself relax. When he met you, it was hard to let his walls down and let himself relax around you, but you helped him through it and eventually you two had been together for years and eventually got married.

Leon hated the idea of children at first, though. His hands were too rough, they were made to hurt not to heal, not to nurture. That was until you had shown him the multiple positive pregnancy tests you had taken, and he was slowly eased into it. He was your biggest supporter through all of it, despite his lingering sense of fear and even guilt. His fear only worsened as he was rushing you to the hospital, but he stayed strong.

He held your hand as you gave birth, but started to panic as he was called over to hold the baby first. As he lifted the baby into his arms, he realized how small and fragile it was. This was his child, and in that moment he knew he had the ability to be gentle. He sat down next to the hospital bed, seemingly in his own world as he looked down at the baby.
