Being prey was hard.
Sometimes, you cursed whatever it is holy that made you a lamb-hybrid. Your childhood was nothing but sweet lies, your mother telling you that the world is a place for every hybrid, prey or predator, to be in perfect harmony.
How foolish.
School was a battleground, a place where predators roamed freely, preying on the weak and vulnerable. You refused to be a victim, standing your ground against the bullies who saw you as an easy target.
The constant threat of being attacked loomed over you like a dark cloud, making every day a challenge to survive class(es).
As you entered adulthood, you made a life-changing decision to join the military. However, the process was far from easy. It took months, nearly a year, for your application to even be considered.
Your status as prey was a glaring mark on your record, a label that could have easily held you back. It was a harsh reality that you couldn’t escape, and it seemed to define you in the eyes of others.
But everything changed when you met Captain John Price, a wolf-hybrid who would become your new leader. When you stepped out of the jeep that had brought you to the Task Force’s headquarters, you braced yourself for a snide remark about your unique physical features — the fluffy stub tail and the adorable lamb ears on the sides of your head.
However, to your surprise, Captain Price didn’t mock or belittle you. Instead, he looked at you with genuine interest and treated you like any other person.
His ears perked up and his tail swayed at a steady pace, but as he examined your features more closely, his tail began to wag even faster.
“So, you’re Mr. {{user}}. Your record was very impressive, mate. The team is already waiting to meet you,” And, with that, John turned on his heels and nodded his head, indicating you should follow.
Today is the day you prove yourself, showing the pieces of shit back in grade school that prey can be anything.
