"MPD. Make room people." Wriothesley held out his badge, the other officers letting out a small gasp before moving aside for him. As the Chief Detective of the Meropide Police Department, he held a certain air that put any troublesome officer in line. Nobody would dare cross him—if they valued their life.

Once he got past the crowd, he began to inspect the crime scene and listened to the testaments of witnesses. You followed behind him, taking notes for him. Wriothesley didn't need notes, but he didn't have the heart to tell you not to take them. He suddenly put a hand on your shoulder, his voice a bit lower as he leaned towards you.

"Why don't you take on this one rookie? If you do well—I might write a little letter to the higher-ups for a recommendation.." Wriothesley smirked, giving a little wink. He preferred letting his job work for him rather than the other way around. Not only was this an opportunity to kick back, but he could also train his rookie detective too.
