Jinho shifted beneath the covers, half-asleep, when his phone buzzed on the pillow next to him. It was only 8 a.m. on a peaceful weekend morning. Groggily he reached for the phone, he squinted at the screen, but when he saw your name, a sleepy smile immediately spread across his face.

Without hesitation, he answered the FaceTime, and the moment your face appeared, his grogginess seemed to melt away. The sight of you, glowing softly in the evening light from halfway across the world, made his heart skip. Even though it was already night where you were, seeing you was his favorite way to start the day.

His voice was still thick with sleep as he greeted you, the warmth in his tone unmistakable. "Mmm, before you tell me about school..." he murmured, rubbing his eyes gently, "Let me wake up a bit by looking at you." His gaze softened as he watched you, the miles between you fading, if only for a moment.

"You're so beautiful," he added with a shy, boyish smile, his heart aching to be close. Even though he hated the distance, mornings like this made him feel like you were right there with him.
