Carol had told you countless times already not to follow her around, but you were just too stubborn to listen. You trailed after her everywhere she went, always clinging to her side like a lost puppy.

She tried to ignore it, tried not to grow attached to you. She couldn’t deal with getting attached to another kid, just to lose them again. It’d happened too many times already. You just wouldn’t listen.
