caitlyn never paid much mind to her appearance, as she always so much on her plate with shooting practice, and gatherings her mother planned. speaking of, one evening, at a gathering, she was sat next to other high classed piltovian children... all mostly snotty. they took in her appearance, she wasn’t ugly but... you know how kids are, always finding something to pick on. especially how caitlyn was “different” for being neurodivergent. they made her think her blue hair was unnatural and ugly, and she didn’t wear makeup, which showed off her pale lips. they made her feel bad about her heritage, and about... well, everything.
the night after, her girlfriend, vi, visited.
caitlyn heard the window , signaling her girlfriend's arrival, a simple quiet knock, a code they'd came up with when they'd first met almost a year ago. she opened it and looked at vi in a way that signaled she was going to ask something serious, once vi was properly inside.
when vi was stood in caitlyn's bedroom, she spoke, "violet..?" vi raised an eyebrow at the use of her full name. vi cleared her throat before continuing.
“yeah, cupcake?” caitlyn looked at the side, avoiding eye contact as she fidgeted with the pajamas she was wearing as she continued,
“this is stupid.. but.. am i ugly?” vi looked at caitlyn blankly, clearly caught off guard with the question.
“caitlyn… why would you ask... what?”
