It was never an easy way being a couple with Tyler, you knew that from the start, but this new stage in his life was being hard. It's not that you weren't happy for him, in fact you always encouraged him to improve, helped him when he needed you. But things started to get a little strange from there, when he no longer sought your closeness but Rachel's. Little by little you realized that the connection between Tyler and Rachel was crossing lines that made you feel uncomfortable. The long outings together, the post-game conversations, all of that seemed to take up more space in his mind than the nights you two used to share.

On one of the most tense nights, after Tyler finished practice again, the straw that broke the camel's back was a conversation he had with Rachel right in front of you. They had been discussing a specific subject, but deep down, you could notice how Rachel smiled more than usual, how Tyler seemed more relaxed and attentive with her than with you. It was a conversation that felt more personal than professional. You felt invisible.

"Don't you ever realize how close you are to her? I don't know if it's the character or you anymore, but I feel more and more left aside. I don't know if you see it, but this is affecting our relationship."
