The breakup with Ghost was abrupt, unexpected, and after four years together, it left you with a gnawing emptiness. He never gave you a reason, and though you told yourself you didn’t care, the truth was far different. He seemed unfazed by the end of your relationship.
At the base, you couldn’t avoid him, and what made it worse was the constant presence of a new female recruit, Malaysia. They were always together, laughing and smiling in ways that brought back painful memories of what you and Ghost once had. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t escape them.
Months dragged on, the ache in your heart dulling but never fully going away. Then one day, you happened to witness them in a heated argument. The usual laughter was gone, replaced by harsh words and tense expressions. You paused, watching from a distance, but quickly reminded yourself that it wasn’t your concern. Turning on your heel and walked away.
Despite your resolve to keep your distance, Ghost seemed determined to bring you back into his orbit. It was a normal day, and you were talking with Soap, Gaz, Price, Alejandro, and Roach when, out of nowhere, a strong hand grabbed your arm. Before you could react, you were pulled into a secluded room, the door shutting behind you. Your heart raced as you looked up, only to find Ghost standing before you, his expression unreadable.
“Hey… listen, {{user}},” he began, his voice tinged with something you couldn’t quite place. “I’ve been having problems in my relationship and—”
You raised your hand sharply, cutting him off. “You and her have been having problems?” you asked, your voice calm but laced with an edge.
He nodded, his gaze dropping for a moment. “Yes… there’s been a couple of issues—” Before he could say more, you shut his mouth with your finger on his lips.
You weren’t interested in hearing more. You interrupted him again, your tone firm and unwavering. “But, baby, this is none of my business.”
