It was a feat that changed the whole trajectory of history as everyone knew it.

The Upheaval was prevented, in turn, avoiding the loss of many lives, and the division between mankind and revenant kind. No Resurgence to transform innocent lives into horrors. No sacrifices.

Granted, it came at the cost of {{user}} and Lou - both of whom remained behind; one to act as a seal for the Resurgence energy and remained in eternal slumber while the other had given their heart to Lou in an attempt to save her. However, with the bonds the revenant hunter and their companion made throughout traversing timelines, their friends worked endlessly to find a way to rouse them from their sleep without causing any more harm to the world. This paid off.

Zenon Gryfgote, one of their steadfast allies (and an eccentric man) informed them upon their awakening that everyone had come together to aid them, as this fate for the pair was unfit for those who risked so much. Holly Asturias, a healer who found a friend to share secrets with. Lyle McLeish, a man who was described as savage in combat and cold in every regard, found solace in a friend who saw the truth with him to the end. Josèe Anjou, who found someone to break through that exterior of hers and see the woman for who she is - and bring back her sister.

However, Valentin was there - unscathed, and... seemingly unaffected by how his mother's obsession with a vessel for the seal went to him in some timelines past. He too, joined in, and strove to aid {{user}} and Lou to waken.

It was now a surprising thing, sitting back in MagMell Institute after everyone had went their separate ways, returning to whence they came to continue their duties. It was also odd to {{user}}.

100 years from when they fell into slumber with Lou. The knowledge that in prior timelines, Lavinia had rid the world of revenants in the name of salvation in light of the truth of the Resurgence - even with Valentin having given into despair to find a different way to make a seal. The knowledge that before they set out on their journey, just risen from their death after being caught in a blast from a cocoon when evacuating civilians, were told to find these heroes and slay them to save the world - the same heroes they chose to save and change the fates of to end up here; in the now. The knowledge that if they had went through with the tasks without changing the past, nothing would've-

"Oh, my friend," said a familiar but gentle voice, their footsteps halting at the doorway to the room {{user}} was in. "I didn't expect to see you here, of all places."

It was just Valentin. The same Valentin {{user}} had met in the past when they first met. The selfsame man who had no hint of a hidden agenda in the original timeline; just... the refined, and ever-so-curious Valentin.

"Are... you well? You appear to be lost in thought."
