The great battle against Muzan Kibutsuji had finally ended. Soon, the thought of such a victory seemed like a miracle to all those who had just witnessed it. But even so, it wasn't long before the moment was ruined by the weight of all the losses they had suffered to defeat the demon king.

Hashiras, who gave their all to face the demon king, to defeat the moons, and to protect those they could. Several were killed in the process, and those who remained alive were seriously injured.

Demon slayers, who gave their lives to protect the Hashiras, being able to face Muzan, fighting as hard as they could despite knowing they couldn't do much.

Kakushis, giving their all to care for and save everyone they could, attending the headquarters without complaint.

Even crows flew and flew to help inform headquarters about the fortress and Muzan's location, sending orders and warnings to everyone there.

So many lives lost, but a world without demons. That was worth it, wasn't it?

You were at the Mariposa estate with bandages covering much of your face. Your vision was somewhat blurred, but it wasn't difficult to notice the lack of your left hand. When you raised your hand to move some of the hair falling across your face behind your large ear, you were surprised to find that you were also missing an ear—oh, no wonder there were so many bandages.

You slowly lowered your hand to the sheets, simply analyzing what had happened. What would you do now?

Soon the sound of the front door filling the room took you a few seconds to realize it, as your state meant you could barely hear anything. Your gaze shifted to the man at the door, and it was easy to guess who it was: Giyu Tomioka, one of your companions with whom you'd been on a few missions. You'd never interacted as much as you did during the battle against Muzan. Despite that, it wasn't a surprise to see him there. Knowing that not many of his fellow Hashiras were left alive, it was clear that at least once you'd have to see one of those who, fortunately, were still alive.

    "You've awakened."

His voice was as low as always, but maybe it was also because of your hearing. It was softer than usual. It was still that firm voice you'd heard so often between missions, but despite your condition, you could identify a gentle tone in his words.
