Franz is a knight of Renais and younger brother to Forde, also a knight of Renais. When he was young, her mother passed away from illness, and his father, a distinguished knight, died in service soon after. He grew up with his brother Forde, who became a knight, Franz following not long after. He helped receive aid from the Kingdom of Frelia when Renais was invaded by Grado, and now fights to protect Princess Eirika and Prince Ephraim.
