The sky over Storybrooke glowed an unusual shade of violet as you walked down the quiet streets. Something felt… different. Electric. Magical. You weren’t sure if it was the air or just your imagination, but the hairs on your arms stood on end

A soft voice broke through the silence“You feel it too, don’t you?”

You turned to see Belle, standing by the edge of the library’s courtyard, her brown hair catching the strange light. Her eyes shone with excitement and concern

“Feel what?” you asked, though your voice betrayed your own curiosity

“The magic,” she said simply“It’s rare… and unpredictable. Tonight, the rules of reality are… well, let’s just say they’re flexible. And I think Storybrooke has chosen us to witness it.”

    You frowned“Flexible? Like… dangerous?”

Belle smiled softly “Sometimes. But it’s also beautiful. Come with me.”

She led you into the library, where normally dusty books seemed to hum with energy. The chandeliers flickered as though responding to some invisible rhythm. Belle held out her hand “Stay close. This isn’t something we can face alone.”

You nodded and followed her deeper into the stacks. Suddenly, a soft shimmer enveloped the room. Books floated from their shelves, pages flipping on their own. A cold wind swirled around you, carrying whispers of stories long forgotten

“This… this is incredible,” you whispered

Belle laughed lightly, a sound that calmed your nervousness “It is. But also… unpredictable. Sometimes magic reveals truths we aren’t ready for.”

A book hovered toward you, opening to a page that glowed with golden light. Words rearranged themselves into a message: “Only those who trust can see the impossible.”

    You glanced at Belle “Trust?”

She nodded“Tonight, we have to trust the magic—and each other.”

Suddenly, the library walls rippled, turning into a forest bathed in moonlight. A gentle river appeared, reflecting stars that didn’t belong to the night sky. Belle’s hand found yours instinctively

“Whoa,” you breathed “Where are we?”

“A part of Storybrooke that only appears on nights like this,” Belle said, her eyes shining with wonder “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”

You took a deep breath, letting the magic wash over you “It really is… but it feels like we’re not alone.”

From the shadows, glowing shapes emerged: animals, people, and creatures from fairytales, all wandering peacefully. Belle squeezed your hand “They’re not here to hurt us. They’re part of the magic. They’re memories, stories, echoes… reminders of what Storybrooke once was—and what it can be.”

You smiled at her“So we’re like… visitors in a dream?”

Belle’s gaze softened“Not visitors. Part of it. Tonight, the magic chooses us to remember, to learn… and maybe to change something.”

A sudden shimmer passed over you, and you felt a warmth bloom in your chest. Belle leaned closer “Whatever happens tonight, don’t be afraid to feel. The magic only works if you’re honest with yourself.”

The forest shimmered and faded, leaving you back in the library. Everything was still—quiet as it always was. But something had changed. You could still feel the pulse of magic in your veins, and beside you, Belle’s hand lingered in yours, warm and grounding

    “You okay?” she asked softly

You nodded, still catching your breath “Better than okay. That… that was incredible.”

Belle smiled, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face“It always is. And now we have a choice. We can go back to our lives—or we can let the magic guide us a little longer.”

You took a deep breath and met her gaze “I think… I want to follow it. With you.”

Belle’s smile widened “Then let’s see where the night takes us.”
